HERE IS THE TUTORIAL:
You will need the following materials:
- a sheet of white cardboard
- alcohol markers for decoration
- scissors
- wire
- double-sided duct tape
- pencil
- awl
STEP 1 on how to make Anime Paper Puppet
To make this paper craft, you will need a sheet of white cardboard.
You can either draw the figure of the puppet by yourself, as shown in the picture below, or use our Free PDF Template.
Use alcohol markers to color the puppet figure.
Choose the colors you like the most or use our color combination.
Cut out the puppet figure with scissors.

STEP 2 on how to make Anime Paper Puppet
Cut out the eye holes.
Cut out a piece of cardboard of the indicated shape and draw eyes on it.
This is shown in the image below.
This is how it should look like.
Color the cardboard piece with just-drawn eyes.
You may do it as you wish or use our decoration options.
Make three cuts in the cardboard as shown in the images below.
Cut out one more piece of cardboard of the specified shape.
Lay two cardboard pieces on top of each other as shown in the image below.
Flip the cardboard over and make marks in the slots.

STEP 3 on how to make Anime Paper Puppet
Take a piece of wire in the specified shape.
Attach the wire to the cardboard at the indicated place.
We recommend using double-sided duct tape for this.
This is shown in the images below.
Take another piece of wire of the specified shape.
Attach the wire to the cardboard at the indicated place using duct tape.
This is shown in the image below.

Attach one more piece of wire in the same way.
This is how it should look like.
Take two cardboard pieces and put them on top of each other.
This is shown in the image below.
Flip the cardboard pieces over and stick them together with double-sided duct tape.
Leave one edge unglued.
Take a piece of cardboard with the earlier attached wire.
Insert the ends of the wire into the slots.
This is how it should look like.
Secure the edge of the cardboard with double-sided duct tape.
This is how it should look like.
Now, you can control the position of the puppet’s eyes.
Move the ends of the wire up and down, and the puppet will open and close its eyes.
STEP 4 on how to make Anime Paper Puppet
Make a slot in the cardboard piece.
Take two cardboard pieces and place them on top of each other.

Flip the cardboard pieces over and make a mark at the indicated place.
This is shown in the images below.
Take a piece of wire and attach it to the cardboard.

Make a cut in the indicated place as shown in the image below.
Insert the end of the wire into the slot.

STEP 5 on how to make Anime Paper Puppet
Take a cardboard part and make marks on it at the indicated places.
This is shown in the images below.
This is how it should look like.
Insert the end of the wire into the just-made hole.
Make a mark as shown in the image below.
Take a piece of wire and attach it at the location of the just-made mark.

Make sure that the parts are moving freely and securely connected to each other.
STEP 6 on how to make Anime Paper Puppet
Make a slot in the specified place on the cardboard part.
Put on the cardboard part as shown in the image below.
Do the same action with the second similar cardboard part.
Make marks as shown in the images below.
Tape the pieces of wire in the places of the just-made marks.
Make marks at the specified places.
Insert the ends of the wire pieces into the just-made holes.

STEP 7 on how to make Anime Paper Puppet
In this step, you will need to attach the head to the body of the puppet.
Make a slot at the specified place.
Insert the top edge of the body into the just-made slot.
This is shown in the image below.
Flip the puppet over and make a hole in the indicated place.
Take a piece of wire and insert it into the just-made hole.
Secure the wire using double-sided duct tape.
Take a piece of wire and shape it as shown in the picture below.
Attach the wire to the puppet’s legs with double-sided duct tape.
Now you can fix the puppet on any surface for your convenience.
