FUNNY Paper Craft Idea with SpongeBob | Cardboard Toy DIY

HERE IS THE TUTORIAL:

You will need the following materials:

• A4 white cardboard sheet
• Pencil
• Scissors
• Glue
• Alcohol markers (choose colors as desired)
• Wooden stick
• Glue gun

STEP 1 of how to make Paper Craft Idea with SpongeBob

To make this paper craft, you will need an A4 white cardboard sheet

You can either draw the figure of SpongeBob by yourself, as shown in the picture below, or use our free template

Use markers to color the SpongeBob figure

Choose the colors you like the most or use our color combination

The finished colored SpongeBob figure should look like this

STEP 2 of how to make Paper Craft Idea with SpongeBob

Use scissors to cut out the SpongeBob figure

Cut along the outline of the SpongeBob figure carefully

The finished cut-out SpongeBob figure should look like this

Use the scissors to cut the SpongeBob figure in two parts as shown in the picture below

This is how it should look like

Take a cardboard sheet and draw a smiling mouth for the SpongeBob figure with a pencil

Please note that the width of the mouth you have drawn and the SpongeBob figure should be the same

This is shown in the picture below

The finished drawn smiling mouth of SpongeBob should look like this

Use the scissors to cut out the smiling mouth of SpongeBob not just to the outline, but to a slightly larger size

This is to make it easier to glue

STEP 3 of how to make Paper Craft Idea with SpongeBob

Take a cardboard sheet and use a pencil to draw the figure as shown in the picture below

Note that the width of the figure you have drawn and the bottom part of the SpongeBob figure should be the same

The figure you have drawn should be about this shape, as shown in the picture below

Color and cut out the figure you have drawn, as shown in the pictures below

Now you need to glue together the piece of cardboard you just cut out and the bottom part of the SpongeBob figure

Apply glue to the indicated places in the picture below

Glue the piece of cardboard you just cut out to the back of the bottom part of the SpongeBob figure

This is shown in the picture below

This is how it should look like

Make sure there is space between the glued cardboard pieces

This is important for further making of the SpongeBob figure

STEP 4 of how to make Paper Craft Idea with SpongeBob

Take the piece of cardboard you cut out earlier with the smiling mouth of the SpongeBob figure

Apply glue to it as shown in the picture below

Glue the two parts of the SpongeBob figure together as shown in the picture below

This is how it should look like

Use scissors to trim the edges of the pieces of paper you just glued together

This is shown in the pictures below

Take the two glued parts of the SpongeBob figure and try to connect them together

Insert the top part of the SpongeBob figure into the bottom part as shown in the picture below

Make sure the part with the smiling mouth fits freely into the bottom part of the SpongeBob figure

This is how it should look like

Try pulling out and inserting back the top part of the SpongeBob figure

The smile of the SpongeBob figure is really fun!

STEP 5 of how to make Paper Craft Idea with SpongeBob

In this step, you will need a wooden stick and glue gun

In our tutorial we used a wooden stick shaped like this

Now you need to attach the wooden stick to the back of the piece of cardboard with the smiling mouth of the SpongeBob figure

This is how it should look like

To do this, apply glue to one edge of the wooden stick using a glue gun

This is shown in the picture below

Glue the wooden stick to the back of the piece of cardboard with the smiling mouth of SpongeBob figure

It will look like this

Connect the top and bottom parts of the SpongeBob figure together

Insert the top part of the SpongeBob figure with the glued wooden stick into the designated spot of the bottom part of the figure

You need to insert the end of the wooden stick into the space between the glued sheets of the bottom part of the SpongeBob figure
