- Colored craft paper (white, brown and yellow)
- Scissors
- Markers (Felt-tip or alcohol markers work great!)
⚒️Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Create the Egg Base
To start this easy paper craft, grab a sheet of white paper and fold it in half. Draw a classic egg shape, making sure to position it along the folded edge. This ensures your egg can flip open like a card to reveal the surprise inside. Once you’re happy with the shape, carefully cut it out.
Step 2: Add the “Chocolate” Layer
Every Super Mario Surprise Egg needs a chocolate lining! Take a piece of brown paper and fold it in half. Place your white egg on top as a template and trace around it with a pencil. This ensures both layers are the same size. Cut out your brown egg—this is the “yummy” part of our DIY Mario creation.

Step 3: Craft the Plastic Capsule
Inside every real Kinder egg is a yellow capsule. For our super mario crafts version, fold a piece of yellow paper in half and draw a smaller oval. Snip it out with your scissors. This little container will “hold” our hero!

Step 4: Bring Mario to Life
Now for the best part of this Super Mario DIY! On a separate scrap of paper, draw a small Super Mario. Now it’s time to assemble: tuck Mario inside the yellow capsule, place the capsule inside the chocolate layer, and finally, wrap it all up in the white outer shell.
It’s one of those easy paper crafts that kids can play with over and over again!
